The long version, which led to the definitive version of  2006, was selected by the International ‘Leonard Bernstein’ Music Composition Competition in Jerusalem in 1997, presided over by Luciano Berio.
The jury awarded no prizes at the competition.
This first version was premiered by the Jerusalem Radio Orchestra in the same year, in the same city.
